Breast Augmentation

Breast Augmentation

  • Know your current breast size & cup size
  • Know what cup / size you are aiming for
  • Reseach & bring pictures of the size of breast you are looking for
  • Bring any previous ultrasound / mammogram reports

Dr Yeoh will have a chat with you to understand what you want.
He will ask about your relevant medical & surgical history, any medications you are taking, any allergies and social history.
He will then examine you and take measurements of your chest, breasts & nipple-areola.
Based on your measurements, Dr Yeoh will discuss the ideal implant size for your body.

The implants come in different shapes (round vs tear drop), sizes (volume), projection (moderate / medium vs full / high).
All implants we use are silicone implants with a silicone shell filled with silicone gel.

Then we will discuss the location of the incision and placement of the implant. The implants can be placed under the breast tissue (subglandular) or under the muscle (submuscular or dual plane).

Common complications of breast augmentation with silicone implants include infection, bleeding, altered sensation around the breasts and nipple, capsular contracture, rupture, rippling, asymmetry and anaplastic large cell lymphoma.

All our breast augmentation cases are done in a hospital under general anaesthesia. This is the safest and most comfortable way to do the surgery. The hospital also requires all surgeons to be properly qualified and credentialed before being allowed to perform breast augmentation surgery.

You will be asked to fast at least 6 hours prior to the surgery. Remember that no food and water is allowed. Please check with Dr Yeoh if you have any regular medications which you are supposed to take.

Wear something loose and comfortable to the hospital and take a good shower and wash your hair before coming over.

All our breast augmentations are done as daycare and we do not routinely use surgical drains. That means you will able to go home on the same day of your surgery.

Dr Yeoh will see you in the ward before discharging you. He will advise you on post surgery restrictions and how to care for your surgical wounds.

You will be given a course of painkillers and oral antibiotics.

We will see you one week after the surgery.
