Upper Blepharoplasty

→ Involves surgical removal of excess skin / fatty tissue from the upper eyelid
→ Double eyelid line is created as part of the surgery

Indication:

• Redundant / excessive upper eyelid skin

• Sagging of eyebrows

• Heavy upper eyelids

• Partial obstruction of vision due to overhanging eyelid skin

• Asian double eyelid surgery (creation of a double eyelid line)

Procedure:

• Usually done under local anaesthesia as a daycase

• Incisions closed with sutures which are removed within 1 week

• Ptosis (weakness of eye opening muscle) can be corrected at the same time

Recovery:

• Mild bruising / swelling around surgical site for 7-10 days
